AIP Apple Butter (Paleo)
Makes: 1 cup
- 4 gala apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into small pieces
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 1/2 cups water
- In a large saucepan or pot, add the apples, cinnamon, honey, and water.
- Cook apples over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 3 hours. If you need to add additional water, do so. Apples need to be completely cooked through and should be stained brown once they are done.
- Once the apples are down, ensure all the water has evaporated before blending into a smooth butter. Serve butter warm or store in the refrigerator.
