Stove Top Balsamic Onions (AIP, Paleo, Keto, Whole 30)

  • 1 1/2 red onion, peeled
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Instructions:
    1. Cut the onion in half and lay down flat. Holding down to the root, slice the onion vertically into 1/4 inch strips. Seperate the strips from one another.
    2. Add the onions to a frying pan and saute with the oil and salt over medium heat until onions have softened and have started to become transluscent, about 8 minutes.
    3. Once softened, add the balsamic vinegar and continue sauteeing until onions caramelize, about another 8-10 minutes. Serve warm.
